Top round steak is a lean and flavourful cut and is also easy on the budget. It's best when marinated and cooked to medium-rare (145 F). Serve the steak sliced thinly against the grain. Be careful not to overcook - this meat is best medium rare, and will continue to cook even after taken off the heat, so remove a bit early and allow it to sit for a minute before serving.
